Learning Experience Design - Pre-Design Phase Tips

I was tasked with creating a short 5-minute project that would help new learning experience designers start designing learning experiences. For my design model, I implemented Merrill's Five Design Principles: (1) Understanding the Learning Objective, (2) Activation (grabbing the audience's attention and keeping them motivated), (3) Demonstration (showing the audience how to do a certain task), (4) Application (allowing the audience to do the task themselves), and (5) Implementation (allowing the audience to apply their learning in the real world). I used Articulate Rise 360 to create this module.

Learning Objective: Design a learning project that will help new learning experience designers start designing learning experiences.

Activation: I centered the learning project around a scenario where Mike (a learning experience designer) is tasked with creating a learning project.

Demonstration: After briefly explaining each concept within the first few steps of learning experience design, I showed how Mike (the learning experience designer in the scenario) handled each step of the process as an example.

Application: After each section, I invited the user to apply the concepts that they've learned in their own learning project.

Implementation: Same as the Application step.
