For a job interview I had, I was tasked with creating a short 2-3 minute instructional video about how to create a Google account and then uploading a video onto YouTube. I was given 1 day to do it. By the time of the interview, I had finished it and shared it with those on the interviewing panel.
Objective: Go over how to create a Google account and then upload a video onto YouTube. The duration needed to be a maximum of around 3 minutes with a deadline of 24 hours.
Equipment: I filmed this short video using my phone camera for the first 8 seconds. For the rest of the video, I used my built-in screen capturing feature on my laptop for the visuals and my Blue Snowball microphone and Audacity software to create the voiceovers. I then used Adobe Premiere and After Effects to edit the video and add some additional effects.
Development Process: First, I recorded the screen capture part for the video. Afterwards, I edited and trimmed all unnecessary parts until it was below 3 minutes because I knew that I also needed to add my live-action introduction at the beginning. After the visual editing, I recorded the audio and edited using Audacity. Afterwards, I edited the entire video using a combination of Premiere Pro and After Effects. Then, I filmed my introduction part of the video using my mobile phone's camera and a ring light. Finally, I added music and additional effects using Premiere Pro and After Effects.
